Confirmation is the sacrament that fully initiates a Catholic into the life of the Church. Sponsors for Confirmation must themselves be confirmed, and if married, validly so. Confirmation classes have been phased to 9th grade. Candidates will need to participate in our Faith Formation classes, which also includes students that attend a Catholic high school. The Diocese requires two years of preparation prior to entering the Confirmation year.
The date for Confirmation 2025 will be announced as soon as possible.
For more information, please contact Roxanne Kleckner, Faith Formation Assistant at (814) 864-0622 ext. 353 or assistant@stgeorgeerie.org.
Persons over 18 who have not received any or some of their sacraments and have not yet been Confirmed can attend a class in the OCIA program (Order of Christian Initiation for Adults). Information about how you can register for OCIA can be found here or you call the rectory office with further questions or concerns.
